A power reaper quotation looks like one number. In reality it is four or five decisions stacked on top of each other — engine, belt drive, attachments, who is selling, and whether subsidy enters the picture. Once you can see each layer, comparing quotes stops being guesswork.
1. Engine choice moves the price most
This is the single largest line in any reaper price. Our self-propelled power reaper comes in two builds: the SAT-R101 with a 5 HP Greaves diesel engine and the SAT-R102 with a 5 HP Honda GX200 petrol engine. The diesel machine costs more up front. It also weighs more — around 250 kg against 230 kg — carries a bigger 4.5-litre tank and burns roughly 800–1000 ml of fuel per hour.
The cheaper machine is not automatically the smarter buy. If you plan to hire the reaper out, or run it daily through the season, diesel recovers its extra cost through a lower running cost per acre. If the machine is for your own two to five acres, petrol wins on price, weight and easy morning starts.
2. Belt configuration is part of that engine decision
The diesel SAT-R101 uses a 3-belt drive that pushes more torque into the cutter bar — that is what lets it walk through crop standing up to 10 feet tall, like fodder maize or jowar. The petrol SAT-R102 runs a 2-belt drive and is happiest in crop between 2 and 6 feet, which covers wheat, paddy and most rabi harvesting.
Do not pay for a 3-belt machine if your crop never gets that tall. Equally, do not buy a 2-belt machine for heavy standing crop and then blame the machine. Match the drive to the field, not to the brochure.
3. Check whether the seat is in the bundle
Many quotations include a reaper seating attachment and many do not — and this is the most common reason two quotes for "the same machine" sit far apart. The SAT-S701 is a bolt-on frame with a cushioned seat and steering that converts the walk-behind reaper into a riding machine in about half an hour. When you compare prices, first confirm whether the seat is inside the number or on top of it.
4. Who you buy from changes the number
A price from a trader or a distributor carries a margin that a price from the manufacturer does not. Sunidhi Agrotech builds every reaper in-house at our Ahmedabad plant — cutting, fabrication, assembly and load testing under one roof — so there is no reseller layer between the factory floor and your field. That is what factory-direct pricing means in practice.
Want a straight answer instead of a sales pitch? Call the factory on +91 87996 56981 or message us on WhatsApp — tell us your crop and acreage, and we will tell you which build we would send and why.
5. Subsidy can change your net cost
Several state agriculture departments run machinery subsidy schemes that cover reapers. Approval is usually decided on paperwork rather than eligibility: land records in your name, an Aadhaar-linked bank account and a valid quotation from a registered manufacturer cover most requirements. Apply early — district allocations often run out well before the published deadline. Our Gujarat subsidy roadmap walks through the full process step by step.
What to ask for in writing
Before you commit to any quote — ours included — get these on paper:
- Exact model number, engine make and belt configuration
- Whether the seating attachment is included in the price
- Warranty period and exactly what it covers
- Which spares the nearest dealer keeps in stock
- Delivery timeline, and whether operator training is included
A seller who hesitates on any of these five points is telling you something useful.
So what does a power reaper cost?
We deliberately do not print prices, because a printed number without the bundle behind it misleads more than it informs. Our pricing is factory-direct and shared on request, along with the subsidy category used in previous approvals and your nearest dealer among our 100+ dealer network across 9+ states — see where we work. If your fields are small and irregular, also read our differential vs standard reaper comparison before you decide which build to price.
The right way to buy a reaper is the same as the right way to buy any machine: understand what is inside the number, then compare like with like. Send us an enquiry and we will call you back with the current factory-direct price.
