Junagadh · Groundnut Heartland

Where the groundnut lift decides the year.

Junagadh is the heart of India’s groundnut belt. In a crop where every pod left in the soil is pure loss, the digger you use is not a minor decision — it is most of the harvest.

The groundnut heartland.

If there is one district where our groundnut digger has to prove itself every single year, it is this one.

01/ REGION

A crop that punishes the wrong machine

Groundnut is unlike most field crops: the harvest itself decides a large part of the yield. Wheat left standing can be cut tomorrow. Pods left in the soil are simply gone — unweighed and unsold. That is why farmers around Keshod, Mangrol and Visavadar are far more particular about digger geometry than a brochure would predict.

The SAT-G601 runs its blade at roughly 15 degrees, which is the angle that lets it slide beneath the root ball and lift the whole plant rather than shearing through the pod zone. It is tractor-mounted and draft-driven with no PTO, which means there is very little on it to fail during a short, unforgiving lifting window. In this district, that simplicity is the feature farmers actually ask about.

Timing is everything here. Judge the soil rather than the calendar — it should crumble, not clod. Our harvesting guide covers the moisture test, depth setting and windrow drying that protect your grade.

Quick Answers

Questions from Junagadh farmers

Why does the digging angle matter so much for groundnut?
Because the blade has to pass under the pod zone and lift the plant, not cut through it. A blade running too flat pushes soil ahead of it and shears pods off underground, where you will never see the loss. The SAT-G601 runs at roughly 15 degrees for exactly this reason.
When should I dig — is there a date?
Judge the soil, not the calendar. It should crumble when squeezed, not clod and not powder. If the ground has baked hard, a light irrigation a day or two ahead brings it back into range. Many growers here plan that deliberately.
Do dealers here stock digger blades?
Yes. Blades are a wear part and our Junagadh dealers stock them through the lifting season specifically so no farmer loses days waiting on a courier during the window that matters most.
Can the digger be used on other crops?
It is built and set up for groundnut — that is what the blade geometry is optimised for. Tell us your crop and soil when you enquire and we will be straight with you about whether it fits.
What else do you supply in Junagadh?
Boom sprayers for the groundnut spray calendar, and power reapers for the wheat and fodder side of the rotation. Both run off the same tractor you already use for the digger.
